GABA Balance™ Capsules
GABA helps to balance excess glutamate. Too much glutamate excites nerves to death and can be responsible for a range of issues including eye twitching, difficulty sleeping, seizures, increased stims, lack of eye contact, aggressive behavior, decreased bowel motility and headaches amongst other issues. The use of urine amino acid tests and neurotransmitter tests can give a sense of glutamate levels. When glutamate is too high, in addition to limiting the ingestion of glutamate (or other excitotoxins) the use of GABA can be a real help in addressing these issues. There are several options for supplementing GABA. Those options include GABA Balance (which is made especially for my program) as well as GABA Calm, Topical GABA pump, BeCalm Spray and Zen (which is a combination of GABA and theanine). When not handled, stored or produced properly, GABA can be converted to glutamate and this can be an issue with some sources of GABA. I have specially designed the GABA Balance capsule and BeCalm spray and asked that both have extra quality control measures to produce a product I can have confidence in.
GABA Calm Lozenges

GABA in BeCalm™ Spray
As with the other oral sprays, this route of administration has the advantage of being absorbed in the mouth, which can be a help for those with gut absorption issues or leaky gut. BeCalm is designed to contain a range of ingredients to help to balance and reduce excess glutamate and excess excitotoxins in the system. BeCalm contains low dose lithium as part of its ingredient mixture to balance glutamate and this has the added advantage of supplying low dose lithium that may be a help for B12 transport and maintaining healthy natural lithium levels. Other supports that can be considered to aid in balancing glutamate and excitotoxins include GABA Balance capsules and low dose Nerve Calm Nucleotide Blend.
Garlic Tablets
Garlic is a wonderful antimicrobial agent that is useful for a range of microbial imbalances. It is also an excellent source of ‘thiol’ groups that may help in moving mercury from the system. Garlic has a range of reported benefits including its use for cholesterol balance.
Gastrus Chewable Tablets
This is a source of two different strains of L.reuteri. A recent study demonstrated the reversal of certain autistic behaviors in animal models when supplemented with Lactobacillus reuteri. In addition L.reuteri can help limit the growth of H.pylori. For a complete chart and listing of the probiotics I suggest and why, please see the separate Probiotic listing. I feel very strongly that sources of probiotics should be rotated.
Get B12™ Spray
This spray has the advantage of oral absorption which can be a positive for those with leaky gut and nutrient absorption issues. Get B12 is a source of both hydroxyl and adenosyl B12 which are the two forms of B12 that tend to be well tolerated by all. Those who do not have nutrigenomic data or those who cannot tolerate methyl donors should consider the use of GET B12 as a source of hydroxyl B12 and adenosyl B12. This can be combined with a source of methyl B12 (such as Methyl B12 Mega Drops) for those who also want to support methyl B12.
Ginkgo Biloba Capsules
Ginkgo can be a help for those with altitude sickness. It has also been useful for some cases of restless leg syndrome as well as those who need energy and to support peripheral circulation (i.e. cold or tingling hands and feet). Ginkgo has also helped in cases of tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Ginkgo can be combined with Padma to help with some of these health concerns, such as restless leg syndrome and peripheral circulation. In the past I found that ginkgo and Padma were a huge help for my own father when he suffered from restless leg, tinnitus and peripheral circulation later in his life.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate Plus 60 Tablets
Glucosamine and chondroitin are classically used to support joints. I also like this supplement to support the gut, especially when leaky gut is a concern. This tablet also includes low dose manganese which is useful for those with low manganese levels on a HE test. However, glucosamine and chondroitin are complexed with a source of sulfur. If sulfur levels are too high on a HE or a UTEE, then this is not a supplement that I would suggest. I only suggest it for consideration in cases of leaky gut where sulfur is not a concern or cases of low manganese where sulfur is not an issue.
Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM Cream
This topical cream is a means to support glucosamine and chondroitin in cases where individuals cannot swallow pills or can only tolerate low doses of supplements in a topical format. Glucosamine and chondroitin are classically used to support joints. I also like glucosamine and chondroitin to support the gut lining, especially when leaky gut is a concern. This combination also includes MSM which is a source of methyl groups as well as sulfur. If sulfur levels are too high on a HE or a UTEE, then this is not a supplement that I would suggest. I only suggest it for consideration in cases of leaky gut where sulfur is not a concern. In addition, the use of MSM may be a problem for those who cannot tolerate extra methyl donors.
Glucose Support Capsules
This is a great supplement for chromium and vanadium support, when those values are low on a HE test, if blood sugar issues are also a concern. This supplement has a range of herbs that have been reported to help with blood sugar, including specialized compounds such as corosolic acid and bitter melon. It also includes fenugreek which may be a help for social language and interaction. The VDR/FOK capsule is source of chromium, vanadium as well as gymnema sylvestre to support the pancreas, but does not include fenugreek, a source of corosolic acid or bitter melon. So the choice between Glucose Support cap and VDR/FOK cap is partially dependent on the desire for extra blood sugar supports (as well as fenugreek) found in the Glucose Support capsule while the VDR/FOK cap is more focused on pancreatic support along with serving as a source of chromium and vanadium. My father developed type II diabetes later in his life. I used the Glucose Support capsules along with Pancreatic Glandular Extract for my father and low dose Glucose Support Nucleotide Blend, and found them to be extremely effective for him. PLEASE, as always, defer to your own doctor, especially when blood sugar issues are a concern.
Glutathione in Trans GSH Cream
Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most important compounds in the body for naturally moving toxins out of the system. When the methylation cycle is in balance and when taurine levels are in balance then glutathione levels should increase naturally. However, it is often useful to also add supplemental glutathione in moderation. This topical form of glutathione is useful for those who cannot swallow pills. This glutathione cream also includes glycerylphosphorylcholine, which is reported to be helpful for the brain, for increasing acetylcholine and increasing growth hormone.

I like these two glutathione capsules (Glutathione Reduced 500 and GSH Capsules 100) as they are ‘reduced’ glutathione which is the form you want glutathione to be; you do not want to use oxidized glutathione. These particular sources of glutathione are specially prepared so that it is the reduced form of glutathione, in other words a source of glutathione that has not been negatively affected by oxygen/air. I also always like to add NADH when using glutathione as a second way to try to ensure that the glutathione stays in the reduced form. I like to have more than one source of reduced GSH available to choose from because of the nature of making a reduced compound I choose to have fresh material on hand on a regular basis rather than stockpiling a supplement that could undergo changes and oxidation while sitting on a shelf. For this reason, I like to have more than one source available to ensure that one or the other will always be in stock. Both are reduced glutathione (reduced GSH) and both cost the same per capsule, one just has more capsules per bottle than the other. Again, take NADH when taking glutathione if possible.

Goldenseal Herb Capsules
Goldenseal is one of the key herbs that I like to use both for its antimicrobial properties as well as a potential aid in helping with verbal communication. The key component of Goldenseal with these activities is berberine. I include berberine in the NaturoMycin compounded supplement as well as in Seasonal Support but in some cases a source of extra berberine may be desired and Goldenseal can be used as a source of additional berberine. In addition, the berberine in goldenseal may also be a help to support bile, which can aid in digestion and may help to compensate for lower bile activity from the pancreas.
Gotu Kola Leaf Capsules
I like to combine gotu kola with bacopa for memory, energy and brain function. Both of these herbs are a part of the Step 3 capsules for this program as well as the supplement called Think Well. A little known use of gotu kola is to help with canker sores. It may be that it is useful for this purpose as it has been reported to aid in wound healing. Myrrh can also be a help for wound healing/canker sores and is part of the oral NaturoMycin spray. Gotu kola may also be a help for tendons, connective tissue especially when used along with Glucosamine Chondroitin.
Grape Seed Extract Capsules
NOT to be confused with Grapefruit seed extract. Grape Seed Extract is useful for helping with glutamate and GABA Balance. It is included in a number of my specially formulated capsules but extra Grape Seed Extract can be used when glutamate is a problem. Grape Seed Extract works well in conjunction with Pycnogenol in terms of helping to balance glutamate. One option is to use Grape Seed and Pycnogenol on alternate days along with the BeCalm Spray and Nerve Calm Nucleotide Blend as needed for extra help with glutamate.
Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) Capsules
Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) Liquid
NOT to be confused with Grape Seed Extract. Grapefruit Seed Extract (otherwise known as GSE) is a very potent antimicrobial agent. It is useful to help with a range of microbial imbalances seen on CSA tests including a number of bacterial imbalances as well as yeast imbalances. I like to use GSE as part of a more complete program to help with microbial balance. My thesis research involved antibiotic resistance. Based on this research experience I prefer to use low doses of a range of supports to help balance microbes. I do not believe in high doses of single supplements. As a result I often suggest (for consideration with your own doctor as always) the use of GSE, IgY, a range of relevant IMF, some Nucleotide Blends, Seasonal Support capsule and/or NaturoMycin spray plus NaturoMycin capsules. The idea is to use low doses of a range of supports to help prevent microbial resistance to any one compound. The GSE liquid and NaturoMycin sprays are options for those who cannot swallow pills.
Green Tea Extract Capsules
Green Tea has been reported to aid in everything from cancer, to heart health, and as one of the most potent antioxidants. Green Tea extract is part of the UltiFend capsule but some individuals may prefer to use increased amounts of Green Tea or simply use Green Tea alone. Some studies indicate that the impact of green tea is enhanced with Vitamin C use. Ultifend does include vitamin C along with green tea as well as huge range of other antioxidants for those who want a broader range of antioxidants than just the use of green tea extract.

Gugulipid Capsules
Gugulipid may help with arthritis as well as helping to balance cholesterol in a normal healthy range. In terms of cholesterol it may work best in conjunction with low dose Red Rice Yeast and a source of CoQ10. I strongly believe that when using any compound to affect cholesterol that CoQ10 should always be supplemented and look at balancing cholesterol in a normal healthy range in concert with your own doctor. Gugulipid has also been reported to be helpful in cases of acne. The use of Clear Skin spray along with Gugulipid may be a particularly helpful combination for acne.
Gymnema Capsules
Gymnema sylvestre has been reported to be helpful for the pancreas. I frequently see individuals with autism as well as other conditions that show imbalances in pancreatic activity on stool tests. In addition to its role in fat digestion, the pancreas is critical for blood sugar regulation. The VDR/FOK capsule includes gymnema sylvestre along with pancreatic extract and a range of other compounds to support the pancreas but some individuals may prefer a standalone herb for pancreatic support and in those cases extra gymnema sylvestre is an option. Pancreatic Glandular Extract can also be used as well as SDE, which are especially high in the enzyme pancreatin. Where pancreatic support is so critical and central to health and potentially may play a role in verbal language, I like to have a range of options for support. Again, options include the VDR/FOK capsule, this Gymnema capsule, SDE that are high in pancreatin, extra pancreatic extract and as needed for blood sugar balance the Glucose Support capsules.
Hawthorn Extract Capsules
Hawthorn, in my personal opinion is all about a healthy heart. So, think ‘Hawthorn for a Healthy Heart’. In addition, low dose Heart Support Nucleotide Blend can be considered. I also feel that CoQ10 is an important addition for the heart. I have personally been involved with cases in the past of congestive heart issues that responded extremely well to the use of CoQ10.
Helix Plus Capsules
Research suggests that Helix extract has value in combating breast cancer as well as bladder cancer. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25265853 and http://waset.org/abstracts/32775 ) This supplement can be considered as part of a more complete program for breast health (see the list of supplements to consider with your own doctor listed in my supplement list under Breast Health) when used in conjunction with your own doctor.
Histidine Capsules (Pure L- Histidine)
Histidine can be converted to histamine which is involved in allergic and inflammatory reactions. In addition histidine can be converted to glutamate. For these reasons I only suggest the use of low dose histidine when the levels of this amino acid are so low on a UAA that it would be important to add low dose support to maintain a normal level of this amino acid.
Horse Chestnut Cream
This cream is a topical source of horse chestnut that can help with veins in general and may be helpful for hemorrhoids in particular. While I prefer the use of arnica gel for more general bruising, this cream containing horse chestnut would be more applicable to hemorrhoids and varicose veins. I have had occasional issues with varicose veins in my legs since having children, and I have found this particular cream to work better on varicose veins than any of the others I have previously tried.
Horsetail Capsules
Horsetail grass is an excellent source of natural silica. This can be useful for skin, nails and hair. In addition horsetail grass can be helpful for moving certain toxic metals such as aluminum from the body. Horsetail grass is also noted to be a help for those with bed wetting problems (and can be used in conjunction with Curbita to help with bladder strength and control). Horsetail grass is one of my favorite herbs that I take daily. It is part of the MetalAway compounded formula and I alternate the use of Horsetail grass and MetalAway capsules as part of my regular supplement regime.
Huperzine A Capsules
Huperzine is reported to help balance acetylcholine levels. These levels are particularly important for memory and may be a key factor in Alzheimer’s disease. I do not suggest huperzine in young individuals and tend to only suggest it for consideration in older individuals with memory concerns. Huperzine can be combined with the use of Step 3 capsules, Acetylcarnitine and ThinkWell for memory support. Use in conjunction with your own doctor’s advice.
Hydroxy B12 Lozenges
B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested that hair metal tests (HE test) be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. In addition to the role of lithium in B12 transport, it is also important to look at a source of intrinsic factor (i.e. All in One, MitoForce, ACAT/BHMT capsules) and ATP to aid in B12 transport. There are three major types of B12 used for this program: hydroxyl, adenosyl and methyl B12. Hydroxy and Methyl B12 are available as megadrops which allows for exquisite control over dosing as well as limiting oxygen exposure that can occur when oral tablets are broken into smaller pieces. Hydroxy B12 is the form suggested for all, regardless of nutrigenomic COMT status and can be gradually increased as tolerated, again carefully watching lithium levels on tests and also supporting with a source of ATP and intrinsic factor. B12 can be degraded in the stomach so it may be destroyed when it is swallowed. Oral dosing with the megadrops can bypass this problem. In addition to the use of Hydroxy mega drops, the B12 oral sprays (Get B12 and Black Bear) and oral Hydroxy B12 lozenges that melt in the mouth may bypass breakdown in the gut. B12 is great for energy and to fight fatigue. B12 has been found to help with motion sickness and to calm nervousness and may help with OCD. There are reports to suggest that B12 helps to regenerate nerves.

Hydroxy tryptophan L-5-HTP Capsules
5 HTP (otherwise known as 5 hydroxy tryptophan) is a compound used to make serotonin and melatonin in the body. Those who have very low tryptophan on amino acid tests along with low serotonin on neurotransmitter tests may want to consider support with low dose 5HTP in conjunction with their own doctor. The compounded supplement called SeroMood also includes 5HTP along with low dose St. Johns Wort to help support natural healthy serotonin levels. The need for 5HTP to support serotonin should be determined in conjunction with your own doctor. The production of serotonin from tryptophan or 5HTP also requires normal healthy levels of BH4. For this reason, I highly suggest the use of MTHFR Liver caps along with 5HTP or tryptophan.

These candies are available in a range of flavors and are an oral source of xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The oral absorption of xylitol may be useful for limiting strep in the mouth. Where I have struggled with dental issues for years, I use xylitol candies, xylitol rinse and other xylitol products on a daily basis and I have found it to be a major help for me personally.
IgY Immune Capsules
IgY Immune contains a range of antibodies that are produced to protect against a number of nonideal organisms in the GI tract. These antibodies are made by exposing chickens to a range of microbes. When the chickens produce eggs these eggs contain antibodies directed against these organisms. These antibodies are then purified for use in the IgY capsules. The advantage of the use of IgY is that it supplies your system with immune support in the form of antibodies, against a range of microbes, without your body needing to make these antibodies on their own. Years ago when I was on the board of the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine I spoke with Congressman Berkley Bedell about his recovery from Lyme disease using antibodies produced in cows that were targeted to Lyme. This same approach can be applied to antibodies made in chickens as well as cows for a range of health issues. Indole-3-Carbinol Capsules
Indole-3-carbinol can be useful in helping to maintain healthy estrogen levels and to limit health problems due to excess estrogen. I also suggest the use of Calcium D-Glucarate for those concerned about estrogen excess in addition to the use of indole-3-carbinol. For those with issues of hot flashes the use of low dose Anxiety Nucleotide Blend (or Menopause nucleotide blend) may also be a consideration along with indole-3-carbinol and Calcium D-Glucarate. For those who need to help balance estrogen and progesterone levels the use of Vitex can also be useful. Indole-3-carbinol can be derived from broccoli sprouts and the use of an entire Broccoli Sprout Extract is another option. Those with serious concerns about estrogen sensitive breast issues can also consider low dose Juniper Berry.
Inflammatory Pathway Support™ Capsules
This is a custom mixture of herbs to help with inflammation specially designed for my program. Because so many health issues are tied to inflammation, I suggest that everyone consider this supplement on a daily basis to aid in inflammatory pathway balance (as always defer to your own doctor). This is a unique combination of herbs, unlike other combinations related to inflammation. Inflammatory Pathway capsules differ from InflamMove by avoiding the use of white willow bark. White willow bark is a lovely anti-inflammatory but it can be a real issue for those who have trouble with bruising or bleeding or are sensitive to salicylates. Inflammatory Pathway support capsules do NOT contain white willow bark but do contain herbs to help address three primary inflammation pathways, aiding with TNF alpha, NF Kappa B and LO (lipoxygenase) through the use of curcumin, boswellia and nettle. In addition Inflammatory Pathway capsules also include skullcap which, along with curcumin may help with PRIONs. Prions are implicated in Alzheimer’s disease as well as Mad Cow disease and other fatal conditions. Some little known positives cited for curcumin in addition to helping to decrease prions are that it may aid in cystic fibrosis symptoms, help with aspects of alcohol damage in the liver as well as decreasing the inflammatory mediator NFKB.
InflamMove Capsules
This is an excellent combination of a number of supplements that are reported to help address inflammation and support fluid balance in joints. This combination of herbs includes phellodendron, turmeric ginger, white willow, boswellia, devil’s claw, green tea, bromelain, papain, protease, grape seed, rosemary, quercetin and polygonum. For those who have issues with white willow bark, or concerns about bruising or bleeding then the Inflammatory Pathway capsule, which does NOT include white willow bark, is the ideal alternative.
Inositol Powder
Inositol is related to the compound IP6 which is inositol hexaphosphate. While IP6 is used by some as part of a more complete program to support the body with respect to cancer, inositol has been reported to be a help for the nervous system and for diabetic pain. Both inositol and IP6 have been reported to be useful in some cases of OCD.
Intact Multigland Capsules
Intact Multigland is a general glandular support. It contains support for the immune system with thymus, spleen and lymph extracts all of which are components of the immune system. The use of Intact Multigland with T cell and B cell caps may help to give more enhanced immune support for those needing to supplement their immune system. In addition, Intact Multigland includes placenta, parotid, adrenal and bone marrow concentrates making it an excellent addition to the use of adrenal supports and PS/PE/PC for those looking to address adrenal issues. I personally use this supplement twice a day along with a daily vitamin and mineral for basic nutritional and organ support. Everyone in my family takes Intact Multigland daily along with All in One and a range of other supplements as part of their basic nutritional programs.
Intrinsi B12/Folate Tablets
I prefer the use of Methyl Folate 5 MTHF liquid drops (5 methyl THF drops previously called MethylMate B) to the use of this tablet as a source of 5 methyl THF. Methyl Folate 5 MTHF liquid drops (5 methyl THF drops previously called MethylMate B) allow for more exquisitely sensitive dosing of 5 methyl THF. Because the use of 5 methyl THF will often trigger detox symptoms especially in those individuals who are MTHFR C677T ++, I like to increase the dose more slowly, with the ability to increase the dose in smaller more precise increments. While these tablets can be broken into pieces to allow for lower doses, since 5 methylTHF can be negatively affected by oxygen this is not ideal. A second consideration with the use of Intrinsic B12/folate is that it also contains methyl B12. Many individuals cannot tolerate methyl B12 and find that hydroxyl or adenosyl B12 are tolerated more easily. However, in spite of the presence of methyl B12 some individuals prefer not to use the oral 5 methyl THF drops and in those cases this is the next best option to support 5 methyl THF.
Iodine (drops)
Iodine is important for thyroid function as well as immune function. While I do not like to use high doses of iodine, it is important to be sure iodine is in balance. Especially when using lithium support it is wise to run a urine iodine test and/or topical iodine tests to determine if more iodine support is needed. Iodine drops are complexed with potassium so this is a source to consider if potassium support is also needed. Potassium iodide is also used for support in cases of exposure to radiation. Iodoral is another option for iodine support.

Where iodine may compete with lithium, the goal is to support healthy normal levels of iodine while still maintaining adequate levels of lithium as judged by HE test or blood lithium levels.
Ion Transport Support™ Capsules
I have presented data illustrating that many individuals with autism have imbalances in particular pathways related to ions in the body. This can potentially lead to imbalances of mucus in the body which in turn can predispose to H.pylori in the gut, which is also noted to be more prevalent in autism. In addition those with respiratory issues may also benefit from the use of this Ion Transport capsule. These capsules include a range of unique ingredients, specially sourced for me including Phyllanus to help with airway ion transport balance, and a unique blend of Chinese herbs to stimulate chloride secretion. The Ion Transport capsule also includes nutrients to help with mucus processing which may be useful to consider for those with imbalances in sIgA on stool tests. There is low dose support with wasabi and selenocysteine in these capsules which may help move toxins from the system, including mercury. I suggest the use of the Ion Transport Support capsules along with low dose Ion Transport Nucleotide Blend as part of any program to support autism, to be added when you are ready in conjunction with your own doctor as always.
