Wasabi Capsules

Studies have shown that Wasabi is a potent source of isothiocyanate molecules. This molecule may be particularly helpful in moving mercury out of the system; those with autism and with cystic fibrosis have been shown to be low in isothiocyante. In addition to serving as a source of isothiocyanate, Wasabi has been demonstrated to increase the levels of glutathione S transferase. Many with CFS and autism as well as others with high levels of toxins in the system may have lower than ideal levels of glutathione S transferase. This enzyme helps to link toxins to glutathione to help with removal from the body. In particular, glutathione S transferase is reported to remove “xenobiotics” from the system which would include any compounds not normally found in the body. Xenobiotics would include high levels of α-Hydroxyisobutyric Acid (from MTBE) and α-Ketophenylacetic Acid (from Styrene) that are noted on a MAP test. Wasabi includes compounds that have demonstrated antimicrobial activity against H.pylori. Wasabi is potentially helpful for healthy bones. I have included low dose wasabi along with 18 other compounds in the supplement I designed called Ion Transport capsules. The Ion Transport capsules are suggested for all who are working on autism, or have respiratory issues or simultaneous imbalances in key minerals (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium). Because Wasabi may trigger detox of mercury as well as other toxins, the Ion Transport capsule only includes low dose Wasabi to limit detox while supporting other functions. When increased excretion of toxins is desired extra Wasabi capsules or DetoxAway can be considered in conjunction with your own doctor. I ALWAYS suggest working with your own doctor when considering any type of detoxification support.

Wellness Defense Tablets

This is a Homeopathic remedy based on Echinacea that I have used for years along with Echinacea Goldenseal and the combination of supplements in Seasonal Support. I am a strong believer in Homeopathic remedies and I have found this particular remedy to be very useful as part of a more complete approach to colds and flu that can also include extra Elderberry and Oscillococcinum.

Wild Jujube Extract Capsules

Jujube has been shown to calm excitotoxin activity of glutamate in the brain. When glutamate excess is a problem, when over stimulatory behaviors are an issue, then jujube can be used as part of a program to balance glutamate and GABA. Jujube is part of the BeCalm Spray designed for aiding in glutamate and GABA Balance. The BeCalm spray is an oral route of administration and jujube capsules can also be added as needed for additional support via another route of administration. Also, for those who cannot tolerate the oral sprays or choose not to use oral sprays, jujube can be used along with a range of other herbs and supplements to help balance excess glutamate.

Xlear

Xlear is a nasal spray formulated with xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. This nasal spray may be especially helpful when used in conjunction with Seasonal Support capsules at the first sign of a sniffle or a cold. Defer to your own doctor as always.

Xylitol in Ice Chips Lemon

Xylitol in Ice Chips Peppermint

These candies are available in a range of flavors and are an oral source of xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The oral absorption of xylitol in these candies may be useful for limiting Strep in the mouth. I have struggled with dental issues for years. On the advice of my dentist I include xylitol mints and oral rinse in my daily dental routine and I have found this to have made a real positive difference for my dental health.

Xylitol in Smart Sweet Granules

Xylitol is reported to help limit ear infections from Streptococcus, and to help with dental issues. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The use of xylitol as a sweetener may help with these issues as well as serving as an alternative to sugar. The Ice Chips oral candies are another source of xylitol; the oral absorption of xylitol in these candies may be useful for limiting Strep in the mouth. I have struggled with dental issues for years. On the advice of my dentist I include xylitol mints and oral rinse in my daily dental routine and I have found this to have made a real positive difference for my dental health.

Yucca Stalk Capsules

Based on animal systems, yucca helps decrease high ammonia levels. For this reason it is included in LOW doses in the CBS/NOS capsule that I designed. The CBS/NOS capsule also includes carnitine and natural compounds to help support natural production of BH4 to aid in ammonia processing. The use of Yucca Stalk is also an option to aid with high ammonia levels for those who choose not to use the CBS/NOS cap. In addition to its impact on ammonia, Yucca is reported to aid in inflammation particularly helpful for arthritis and rheumatic pain. I only like to use LOW dose yucca. For those who choose to add Yucca stalk rather than the LOW dose yucca in the CBS/NOS capsule, I suggest considering only sprinkles for support. As a basis of comparison, the CBS/NOS cap has approximately 400mg of a proprietary blend that includes some low dose yucca per capsule while these Yucca Stalk capsules have significantly more yucca at 1000 mg of pure yucca per capsule. Where yucca can have estrogenic properties, I only like to use a tiny bit of yucca for its positive role in decreasing ammonia, which is of great importance to the body as high ammonia can put pressure on the urea cycle and deplete BH4. It is preferable to use just enough yucca to help with balance in that cycle without using high doses.

Zen Capsules

GABA helps to balance excess glutamate. Too much glutamate excites nerves to death and can be responsible for a range of issues including eye twitching, difficulty sleeping, seizures, increased stims, lack of eye contact, aggressive behavior, decreased bowel motility, headaches amongst others. The use of urine amino acid tests and neurotransmitter tests give a sense of glutamate levels. When glutamate is too high, in addition to limiting the ingestion of glutamate (or other excitotoxins) the use of GABA can be a real help in addressing these issues. There are several options for supplementing GABA. Those options include GABA Balance (which is made especially to my specifications) as well as GABA Calm, Topical GABA and BeCalm Spray and Zen (which is a combination of GABA and theanine). The value of Zen, which is GABA with theanine, is that it includes theanine which is another calming ingredient to work along with GABA. However, theanine may not be well tolerated by those who have trouble with methyl donors.

Zinc (drops)

These drops have the advantage of easier use for individuals who cannot swallow capsules and choose not to use chewable lozenges. However, these zinc drops are complexed with sulfur. Those who are low in sulfur can consider these drops, but anyone who has higher levels of sulfur, or low molybdenum or high taurine should consider alternate sources to support zinc rather than zinc sulfate drops. I feel that zinc is such an important mineral that I like to have a range of options for the inclusion of zinc in a daily supplement regime. I prefer that zinc levels are higher than copper in the system. These levels can be assessed by looking at HE tests as well as UTEE tests. Zinc helps to balance excess copper which can play a role in attention. Zinc helps to balance excess calcium, and recall that excess calcium can work with glutamate to over excite nerves to death. Zinc can help to aid in balancing glutamate. Zinc can help to lower excess iron as they compete for transport into the body. This is important as too much iron can increase bacterial virulence and can create imbalances in the SHMT portion of the methylation pathway.

Krebs Zinc Capsules

When extra zinc is needed Krebs Zinc can be considered as a source of support. This is especially useful when the Krebs cycle (otherwise known as Citric Acid cycle) intermediates are too low on a MAP test or an Organix test. When the body has a particularly high burden of thallium or aluminum those metals can negatively affect the Krebs cycle and that may be another circumstance where Krebs minerals such as Krebs Magnesium/Potassium or Krebs Zinc should be considered for support. I feel that zinc is such an important mineral that I like to have a range of options for the inclusion of zinc in a daily supplement regime. I prefer to see zinc levels that are higher than copper in the system. These levels can be assessed by looking at a HE test as well as a UTEE tests. Zinc Lozenges

I like the use of zinc lozenges to help support zinc levels. The slippery elm in these lozenges are an added benefit as slippery elm is soothing for the GI tract. There are two types of lozenges that contain zinc, slippery elm and vitamin C however, the difference between the two lozenges is that one also includes xylitol and the other does not. I like xylitol as it can reduce non-ideal bacteria in the mouth, aid in ear infections and be helpful for the gut. Some individuals do not tolerate or care for xylitol so that is why the “Zinc Lozenge” does not include xylitol while the “Zinc w/Vit C & Slippery Elm” does include xylitol. L-OptiZinc Tablets

These tablets are a source of zinc where the zinc is complexed with methionine. This allows for better absorption of zinc into the system while at the same time supplying methionine. Those who have low methionine levels on a UAA can consider this type of zinc for support. However, those with high methionine on a UAA may want to consider the Zinc Lozenges or Krebs Zinc instead for support. I feel that zinc is such an important mineral that I like to have a range of options for the inclusion of zinc in a daily supplement regime.
