Alternative options for those who
cannot swallow pills:

As another option for those who cannot swallow pills, when my daughters were too young to swallow pills I would open up the capsules or poke holes in the gel capsules and mix the contents with honey on a spoon; honey has antimicrobial properties.

Adenosyl B12 in Black Bear Energy Spray

Adenosyl B12 in Get B12™ Spray

B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested that hair metal tests HE be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. In addition to the role of lithium in B12 transport, it is also important to look at a source of intrinsic factor (i.e. All in One, MitoForce, ACAT/BHMT capsules) and ATP to aid in B12 transport.

This spray has the advantage of oral absorption which can be a positive for those with leaky gut and nutrient absorption issues. Black Bear spray (as well as the Black Bear drink) is a source of both hydroxyl and adenosyl B12 combined with molybdenum. This supplement can be a help for those who are ready to add B12 and also show a need for more molybdenum as well as those who are SUOX+ or CBSC699T +, CBS 212+, CBS A360A+ or those with high sulfur levels.

Adenosyl B12 in Dibencozide (Adenosyl Form of B12) Lozenges

A number of my specially designed compounded supplements already contain lower doses of adenosyl B12, such as MitoForce (333 mcg), Ultimate B Complex (333 mcg), Folinic Plus (375 mcg) and ACAT/BHMT capsules (167 mcg). However, a number of individuals really benefit from higher doses of adenosyl B12, such as the extra 8600 mcg in these tablets or the extra 2000 mcg in the Adenosyl capsules. Extra adenosyl B12 is suggested for those with mitochondrial concerns, those with high MMA on a MAP test, those with high valine on a UAA, those with issues related to fat digestion (adenosyl B12 to be taken with biotin) and for athletes. The advantage of these tablets is that they are chewable so they do not need to be swallowed and may be a better choice for those who cannot swallow capsules. On the other hand, since adenosyl B12 can be oxygen sensitive it is preferable to use an entire tablet at one time rather than breaking an oxygen sensitive tablet into pieces. For those needing extra adenosyl support and not wanting to use the 8600 mcg in these tablets then the lower dose Adenosyl capsule at 2000 mcg would be a better choice rather than breaking this tablet into pieces. As with any form of B12 consider running a HE first to be sure lithium is in balance before looking at higher doses of B12 support.

Aerobic O7 (Stabilized Oxygen) Drops

Low dose support with Aerobic drops can be used to help support sodium if low levels are detected on mineral tests as well as serving as support for oxygen for tired muscles. When the pH on a CSA test is particularly low, or the creatinine levels are very high on urine tests then the use of sodium bicarbonate is another option to consider with your own doctor, but care should be used when using sources of bicarbonate to help with pH issues. As always defer to your own doctor when working on pH imbalances.

AminoAssist™ Nutrient Absorption Spray

Low amino acids on a UAA or issues with nutrient absorption can be supported by the use of amino acids. The advantage of AminoAssist is that this amino acid blend was designed specifically by me to avoid amino acids that are excitotoxins while supporting the need for essential amino acids. I generally suggest you consider the use of the AminoAssist spray along with AminoAssist capsules when amino acid support is indicated as the combination of an orally absorbed nutrient with a capsule that is swallowed gives more than one route of introducing the needed amino acids into the system. This is preferable to just swallowing an amino acid capsule especially for those who have trouble absorbing nutrients or have leaky gut. The use of the Bowel Nucleotide Blend may help to enhance nutrient absorption. Also the use of VitaOrgan for nutrient absorption can be considered. For additional amino acid support the Egg Protein Powder (if no egg allergy) and Royal Jelly (if no bee allergy) can also be used for overall amino acid support along with a Placenta Glandular Extract.

Aminocare Cream

A topical cream that includes a range of amino acids for amino acid support. For those who cannot swallow pills, the use of Aminocare Cream combined with AminoAssist spray can be used to support amino acids.

ARA6

This is a source of larch arabinogalactans, which have been reported to help increase the immune system, in particular to help increase natural killer cell activity and macrophage activity within the immune system. This increase in NK and macrophage activity may be a help for those whose immune system is allowing for uncontrolled growth of unwanted cells especially when used in conjunction with more standard medical approaches to cancerous conditions. I like the use of ARA6 combined with Spirulina to support an increase in NK cells as well as to help move those NK cells into the tissue as needed.

Arnica in Arnicare Gel

Used topically arnica gel has been a help for sore muscles, pinched nerves and excessive bruising, swelling and redness. For sore muscles it can be combined with the Muscle Fatigue capsules which contains yerbe mate (among other ingredients) to help soothe muscles. Studies have illustrated that arnica is able to permeate the skin, so it is possible that for those who cannot swallow capsules that opening a capsule (of other supplements) and mixing it with some arnica for topical delivery may aid in at least low dose absorption of those nutrients. In our household we were first introduced to arnica by my youngest daughter who is a dancer/yogi. I literally keep a tube of arnica gel in my purse and it is an indispensible staple in the homes of each of my three daughters.

Ascorbyl Palmitate

This is a fat soluble form of vitamin C. Those considering higher dose vitamin C support or desiring a form that enters the fat phase and not just the water phase (as with most vitamin C) can consider this supplement. Caution should be used with super high dose vitamin C support as it can cause bruising or bleeding. Water soluble forms of vitamin C include Vitamin C with Rose Hips and Orange Chewable Vitamin C tablets.

B Complex Creme

By itself, I do not feel this is sufficient for support of B vitamins. However, for those who cannot tolerate a B complex yet or want extra transdermal support in addition to the use of a B complex this crème is a worthwhile addition to a supplement plan as it does contain several vitamins in the B complex family.

B-Complex Liquid

I prefer the use of Ultimate B Complex as a source of more complete B vitamins, however for those who cannot tolerate Ultimate B Complex or need a liquid form of vitamins then this B complex liquid is an alternative.

B12 Patches

The advantage of this patch is it serves as a transdermal delivery route for B12 which can be an advantage in a number of situations including those who cannot take oral vitamins. However, the type of B12 in these patches is cyano B12. I prefer higher doses of adenosyl, hydroxyl and as tolerated methyl B12 and only very low doses of cyano B12. While patches are a convenient way to apply B12 to the system they are best used in conjunction with Hydroxy B12 Mega Drops and/or Black Bear Energy or Get B12 spray as the body uses hydroxyl B12 in order to detoxify the cyanide from cyano B12 (again remember that All in One and Ultimate B Complex contain hydroxyl B12).

B12 gums:

Breath Freshening Gum Spearmint (12 Piece Sleeve)

Breath Freshening Gum Spearmint (100 Piece Bottle)

Breath Freshening Gum Cinnamon (12 Piece Sleeve)

Breath Freshening Gum Cinnamon (100 Piece Bottle)

Breath-Freshening Bubble Gum (10 Piece Sleeve)

Breath-Freshening Bubble Gum (50 Piece Bottle)

Solar Energy Gum (Moon Melon)

The different flavors of this gum (spearmint, cinnamon, bubble gum) are a source of xylitol as well as B12. Xylitol has been reported to be a help with respect to the bacteria that causes ear infections and where the mouth may be a reservoir for Streptococcus, using an oral source of xylitol may have advantages. In addition these gums (spearmint, cinnamon, bubble gum) contain cyano B12. Cyano B12 is not the preferred source of B12, however it is the form of B12 found most often in more unique sources of B12 such as patches and chewing gum. The convenience of these more unique sources would be a reason to consider cyano B12 when using a patch or gum enables you to allow for B12 supplementation when it might not otherwise be possible. The gum can be chewed during the day at school and at business meetings for those with significantly low B12 or those with major issues with fatigue. I always likes to support with a source of hydroxy B12 when any source of cyano B12 is used as the hydroxyl B12 helps to safely remove the cyanide (from the cyano B12) from the system (again remember that All in One and Ultimate B Complex do contain hydroxyl B12). This is also why I always suggest a source of hydroxy B12 when drinking any energy drink (OTHER THAN BLACK BEAR) as the other drinks contain cyano B12 and Black Bear does NOT. I prefer higher doses of adenosyl, hydroxyl and as tolerated methyl B12 and only very low doses of cyano B12.

B12 Options:

Get B12™ Spray

Hydroxy B12 Mega Drops™

Methyl B12 Mega Drops™

Black Bear Energy Spray

Perque Activated B-12 Guard Lozenges

Dibencozide (Adenosyl Form of B12) Lozenges

Hydroxy B12 Lozenges

Methyl-Cobalamin (B12) Lozenges

B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested that hair metal tests HE be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. In addition to the role of lithium in B12 transport, it is also important to look at a source of intrinsic factor (i.e. All in One, MitoForce, ACAT/BHMT capsules) and ATP to aid in B12 transport.

There are three major types of B12 used for this program: hydroxyl, adenosyl and methyl B12. Hydroxy and methyl B12 are available as megadrops which allows for exquisite control over dosing as well as limiting oxygen exposure that can occur when oral tablets are broken into smaller pieces. Adenosyl B12 is available as a chewable lozenge and as a capsule when desired in higher doses. Adenosyl B12 is included in lower doses in several of the compounded formulas including MitoForce, ACAT/BHMT capsules, Folinic Plus (formerly MethylMate A) and Ultimate B. Extra adenosyl B12 beyond the levels in those compounds can be considered for those with mitochondrial issues, athletes, those with signs of ketosis on a MAP test, those with high valine on a UAA, and those with imbalances in the Krebs/Citric acid energy cycle. Hydroxy B12 is the form suggested for all, regardless of nutrigenomic COMT status and can be gradually increased as tolerated, again carefully watching lithium levels on tests and also supporting with a source of ATP and intrinsic factor. Hydroxy B12 is available in a variety of formats including the Hydroxy megadrops, Get B12 spray, the Black Bear spray and drink as well as the Hydroxy chewables and Perque chewable lozenges. Methyl B12 is ideal for those who can tolerate more methyl donors and can be gradually increased as with the hydroxyl form of B12. Cyano B12 is not the preferred source of B12, however it is the form of B12 found most often in more unique sources of B12 such as patches and chewing gum. The convenience of these more unique sources would be a reason to consider cyano B12 when using a patch or gum enables you to allow for B12 supplementation when it might not otherwise by possible. I always like hydroxyl B12 support when any source of cyano B12 is used (again remember that All in One and Ultimate B Complex do contain hydroxyl B12). B12 can be degraded in the stomach so it may be destroyed when it is swallowed. Oral dosing with the megadrops can bypass this problem. In addition the B12 oral sprays (Get B12 and Black Bear) and oral lozenges that melt in the mouth may bypass breakdown in the gut as well as B12 gum and B12 patches can allow for B12 support in a manner that limits destruction in the gut. B12 is great for energy and to fight fatigue. They have been found to help with motion sickness and to calm nervousness and may help with OCD. There are reports to suggest that B12 helps to regenerate nerves.

B12 in Genesis IC Cream

The best use of this topical cream, in my personal opinion, is as a source of topical B12. This cream does include some ingredients that I am not fond of. However, there are individuals who need a topical means to add B12 and for those, this cream will serve the purpose of supplying topical B12.

BeCalm™ Glutamate/GABA Spray

As with the other oral sprays this route of administration has the advantage of being absorbed in the mouth which can be a help for those with gut absorption issues or leaky gut. BeCalm is designed to contain a range of ingredients to help to balance excess glutamate and excess excitotoxins in the system. BeCalm contains low dose lithium as part of its ingredient mixture to balance glutamate and this has the added advantage of supplying low dose lithium that may be a help for B12 transport and maintaining healthy natural lithium levels. Other supports that can be considered to add in balancing glutamate and excitotoxins include GABA Balance capsules and low dose Nerve Calm Nucleotide Blend.

BiEstro-Care Body Cream

This cream will often help to remedy symptoms of menopause and can work well in conjunction with topical Progesterone Cream. Often individuals need to try a range of supports before finding one that alleviates their menopause symptoms. Other supports to consider for menopause symptoms include AM/PM Menopause tablets. The use of low dose Anxiety Nucleotide Blend (or Menopause nucleotide blend) has been found to be useful for hot flashes. In addition Calcium D-Glucarate combined with Indole 3-carbinol (and/or the broccoli sprout supplement) may be a help with balancing estrogens. As tolerated Vitex may also be a help in balancing estrogen and progesterone but defer to your doctor as always.

Bio-Nativus Concentrated Trace Mineral Drop Complex

This is my preferred basic mineral support. My preference for this compound dates back to my time as a certified BioMeridian energy practitioner, where the use of this mineral mix was helpful in balancing acupressure energy points in the body. I used these minerals when I was using the Biomeridian electrodermal testing device in my private practice, as a certified practitioner. I would use these minerals to get a more stable baseline for individuals before using the device to test reactions to additional supplementation. I found that these minerals did a better job of achieving a baseline balance than any other mineral supports. Bio-Nativus Trace Minerals can be combined with the use of Cell Food for more complete support, especially when copper is too low (while I prefer zinc to be higher than copper, I do want copper in the low normal range). My personal routine is to add a small ‘squirt’ of Bio Nativus minerals and about 5 drops of Molybdenum to a 16 ounce bottle of Poland Spring water each day. An added benefit of Bio-Nativus minerals is that it includes low dose lithium. For those who do not need extra separate lithium orotate or lithium drops (as based on blood or HE testing), but do want to keep their lithium in normal range and supported, the use of All in One + Be Calm spray + Bio Nativus minerals daily is generally sufficient to prevent lithium levels from dropping too low.

Bioactive Colostrum Powder

Colostrum is a source of immunoglobulins such as IgG and IgA. Where I often see low sIgA on a number of gut tests or very high level sIgA on these tests( that can ultimately lead to long term depletion), I have selected sources of colostrum reported to be higher in sIgA molecules. Different types of colostrum have their own unique balance of these immunoglobulins. For this reason I often suggest rotating the colostrum products, so a rotation of Bioactive Colostrum with Colostrum with Lactoferrin and IGF-1 can be considered.

Black Bear Energy Spray

This spray has the advantage of oral absorption which can be a positive for those with leaky gut and nutrient absorption issues. Black Bear spray (as well as the Black Bear drink) is a source of both hydroxyl and adenosyl B12 combined with molybdenum. This supplement can be a help for those who are ready to add B12 and also show a need for more molybdenum as well as those who are SUOX+ or CBSC699T +, CBS 212+, CBS A360A+ or those with high sulfur levels.

Borage Oil in Dry Skin Lotion (Borage Therapy)

This topical cream is an option for those who cannot swallow pills or who want more targeted lotion for skin. I use this lotion daily. Borage is an excellent source of both omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids. Borage Oil works especially well to soothe dry irritated skin. Some individuals prefer borage oil to evening primrose oil for “PMS type symptoms” or breast soreness associated with menstrual cycles, and find that it is more effective for these conditions.

Cell Food Drops

A few drops of this liquid supplement can be added to a drink or a glass of water to provide a wide range of minerals, enzymes and other nutrients. While I personally prefer Bio-Nativus minerals for basic support, Cell Food is generally suggested when copper levels are low on a HE test as Cell Food helps to support copper.

Cell Food SAM-e Drops

I prefer one of the two types of SAMe tablets as support for AHCY + and for S adenosyl methionine rather than the use of Cell Food SAM-e. However, for individuals that cannot tolerate the tablets or cannot swallow pills, then Cell Food with SAMe is an option. Again, the preference is to use either enteric coated or foil wrapped SAMe tablets and only consider this liquid as is an alternative when tablets are not an option.

Chervil

This is a type of parsley that may help stimulate excretion of toxins in urine. It has been reported to help cure hiccups. Chervil is also a natural source of calcium and from a spiritual standpoint may be a good choice for calcium support when needed. Chervil was recommended to me years ago by a spiritual healer. I take chervil daily since that chance meeting with that spiritual healer.

Vegan Kids Multiple Chewables

Vegan Chewables are an alternative to the use of All in One for those who cannot swallow capsules. While these chewable vitamins do not have as customized a composition as All in One they are an option for those who are totally unable to use All in One. My preference is to use All in One, but if that is not possible then consider these chewable vitamins as the next best option. When my daughters were too young to swallow capsules, I would open up the capsule and mix it with honey on a spoon and have my girls lick the mixture off the spoon. I definitely prefer the ‘honey mixed with capsule contents route’ to using a chewable vitamin. However if you can only use a chewable general vitamin, at this point, I would consider this Vegan chewable the best alternative option.

Chromium Drops

These liquid mineral drops are complexed as chromium chloride. While I prefer the use of chromium picolinate to that of chromium chloride, these drops are useful for individuals who are unable to swallow pills yet need an additional source of chromium support.

L-Citrulline

Low dose support with citrulline can be considered for those with OTC mutations. In addition, when high levels of dibasic amino acids are noted on a UAA (cystine, ornithine, arginine and lysine) the use of citrulline may be helpful but as always consult with your own doctor, especially if dibasic amino aciduria is a concern.

Clear Vein Crème

This crème is a topical source of horse chestnut that can help with veins in general and may be helpful for hemorrhoids in particular. While I prefer the use of arnica gel for more general bruising, this cream containing horse chestnut would be more applicable to hemorrhoids and varicose veins.

CoEnzyme Q10™ Fatigue & Muscle Support Spray

The advantage of the CoQ10 spray is that it allows for oral absorption in the mouth instead of relying on digestion in the gut after swallowing a capsule. In addition, the spray also includes carnitine, another important energy supplement for the mitochondria. I feel that CoQ10 is so important that I suggest considering the use of the spray as well as the capsules for more than one route of administration of CoQ10 to the body.

CoQ10 in Smart Q10 Chewable Tablets

Chewable CoQ10 is an option for those who cannot swallow capsules and want to supplement the use of the oral CoQ10 spray. CoQ10 is one of the few nutrients that functions in the fat phase and not just the water phase in your body. It is a critical supplement in the energy pathway. CoQ10 has been reported to help with energy, build new nerves and help with membrane fluidity. Based on a recent NIH study, more is better when it comes to CoQ10. CoQ10 is an important antioxidant for oxidative damage in the body, including in the fat phase, not simply the water phase in the cells. There have been reports that indicate that low levels of CoQ10 are a factor in congestive heart failure. Any individual taking statin drugs should be supplementing with CoQ10 on a daily basis. I feel that CoQ10 is a critical supplement and use it as part of MitoForce for general mitochondrial support as well as using it as a separate standalone supplement. Because I feel it is so critical it is offered in a range of doses as well as in capsules, in a spray as well as a chewable tablet.

Ultra Chewable Cranberry Tablets

For those who are unable to swallow pills or prefer to add extra chewable cranberry, this supplement has the same advantages as the cranberry capsules. This supplement has a reputation for being helpful for urinary tract health. In particular it is reported to limit adherence of E.coli which is often the culprit for urinary tract infections. When high levels of E.coli are noted on stool tests, then cranberry along with other nutrients can be useful in balancing gut bacteria. In terms of gut flora, cranberry works well in conjunction with a number of other supplements that may have antimicrobial properties. One group that works extremely well together is included in NaturoMycin capsulesOregon grape, Neem, Myrrh, Goldenseal, Cranberry, Oregamax, and Uva Ursi. In addition, the use of IMF 5 and Microbial ECX Nucleotide Blend can be considered along with the use of cranberry.

Vitamin C in Orange Chewable C-500mg Tablets

Chewable Vitamin C is great for those who cannot swallow pills and also as a treat you can keep in your pocket and pop in your mouth during the day, when you are driving or when exhaustion hits later in the day at work. I actually keep a bag of chewable vitamin C tablets in my purse. Vitamin C is an important nutrient that many of us simply do not supplement sufficiently. Vitamin C has been reported to help with the absorption of nutrients in the brain, thus increasing their ability to cross the blood brain barrier. Vitamin C also helps to regenerate glutathione, a critical detoxification substance that is made by the liver. In my personal opinion, the more vitamin C, the better, as long as it doesn’t cause problems with loose bowels or bruising. I take extra vitamin C support after each cup of coffee I drink as coffee may deplete vitamin C. I also take vitamin K twice a day to prevent bruising issues from extra C.

Dibencozide (Adenosyl Form of B12) Lozenges

Since adenosyl B12 can be oxygen sensitive, it is preferable to use an entire tablet at one time rather than breaking an oxygen sensitive tablet into pieces. For those needing extra adenosyl support and not wanting to use the 8600 mcg in these tablets then the lower dose Adenosyl capsule at 2000 mcg would be a better choice rather than breaking this tablet into pieces. As with any form of B12 consider running a HE test first to be sure lithium is in balance before looking at higher doses of B12 support.

Digestive Health Chewable Tablets (Gut Health)

This is a probiotic, or the natural bacteria that line your intestinal tract. It is important to repopulate your body with normal flora; this program chooses to use only Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium for support of normal bacterial flora, and low dose Saccharomyces as normal yeast flora. This particular probiotic is a source of Lactobacillus reuteri which has been reported to help lower the level of H.pylori as well as other non-ideal organisms in the gut. A recent study has also demonstrated the reversal of certain autistic behaviors in animal models when supplemented with Lactobacillus reuteri. This chewable form of Lactobacillus reuteri is ideal for those who cannot swallow capsules or tablets. In addition, this is a source of xylitol which has been reported to be useful for dental health and to help limit ear infections. Lactobacillus reuteri has also been reported to be particularly useful for female health and aiding in vaginal flora. For a complete chart and listing of the probiotics I suggest and why, please see the separate Probiotic listing. This includes a more complete explanation of probiotic options and the rationale behind my choices for probiotic support.

DMG (Gluconic) Liquid

DMG (Gluconic) Chewable Tablets

DMG stands for dimethylglycine. This compound may be a help for language in those with verbal communication issues and may do so by shifting the emphasis of the methylation cycle from the short cut to the long route. For this reason, it is important in my opinion to first support the short cut around the cycle, and also to have checked that lithium is in balance before adding DMG andB12 for long route support. Because DMG shifts the emphasis to the long route, I do not believe in using TMG (or betaine) to support the short cut around the cycle. TMG (trimethylglycine) can be an issue for those who are sensitive to methyl donors and TMG will convert to DMG. So, in using TMG for the short cut you generate DMG, which can shunt the system to the long route, often times well before you are ready to do so. This is why I choose to use PS/PE/PC and DHA for the short cut and then once it is ascertained that lithium is in balance to add B12, 5 methylTHF and DMG to begin working on the long route around the cycle. The use of either liquid or capsules of DMG are equally good and the dose can be adjusted as tolerated over time.

Dry Skin Lotion (Borage Therapy)

This topical cream is an option for those who cannot swallow pills or who want more targeted lotion for skin. I use this lotion daily. Borage is an excellent source of both omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids. Borage Oil works especially well to soothe dry irritated skin. Some individuals prefer borage oil to evening primrose oil for “PMS type symptoms” or breast soreness associated with menstrual cycles, and find that it is more effective for these conditions.

Vita D-Light™ Spray

Vitamin D levels are important for a range of neurological health conditions including studies showing a higher incidence of MS in regions of the country with less sunshine. In addition lower levels of vitamin D have been implicated in colon cancer as well as seasonal affect disorder. Those who have a tendency toward seasonal affect disorder should consider starting extra vitamin D and SAMe (if tolerated) in October and continuing through March. Where vitamin D and vitamin A can compete for transport into the cell, it is important to strike a balance between vitamin D and vitamin A support. Rosemary and Sage may help with Vitamin A and D transport and one of the benefits of the Vitamin D spray (Vita D-Light) is that it also includes rosemary. Also the vitamin D spray is useful for those who cannot swallow pills and can be combined with the use of Vitamin D gelcaps for those wanting additional routes of vitamin D support. Sage and/or Rosemary capsules can be used in conjunction with the spray for enhanced support for transport. Vitamin D plays a role in calcium transport along with the role played by Vitamin K. For this reason my preferred support for calcium is the capsule that includes vitamin D with vitamin K and calcium and magnesium that I refer to as cal/mag/D/K. Vitamin D also is involved in dopamine balance as well as blood sugar balance and that is why I have also included Vitamin D in the VDR/FOK capsules that help support the pancreas along with additional sage and rosemary for transport.

EDTA – Calcium Disodium EDTA Powder

I like the daily use of EDTA for a number of reasons. EDTA can help to bind a number of toxins including aluminum (which can be a problem especially when the CSA or GPPP has a number of non-ideal bacteria) as well as lead and cadmium. EDTA can also help to balance high levels of copper (excess copper relative to zinc can be a role in ADD) and high iron (excess iron drives bacterial virulence and can imbalance SHMT activity). For those who are concerned about toxic metal levels, the compound MetalAway includes EDTA along with a number of other ingredients to help with metal excretion. DetoxAway is a more advanced compound with higher doses of EDTA as well as ingredients to aid in binding mercury. Any compounds that do enhance toxic metal excretion should be used in conjunction with your own doctor. In addition to its role in metal balance, EDTA can help to solubilize the outer coating of a range of bacteria as well as biofilms, which makes these bacteria more susceptible to other antimicrobial agents. When used to weaken bacterial outer membranes, the use of low dose Chitosan along with EDTA has an additive value. This is why the compound that I designed called BactiSolve includes both EDTA and chitosan (BUT since chitosan if from the shells of shellfish, CAUTION should be used for those with shellfish allergies). I like to have a number of OPTIONS for EDTA available so that you and your doctor can adjust the amount, the dosing and the route of administration as needed for each individual. However, I do NOT believe that more is better in terms of EDTA as excess levels can cause bruising or bleeding due to blood thinning impacts. Therefore it is important to find a balance between a dose and source of EDTA to use daily for all of its important properties and not using too much for those individuals that may be more susceptible to bruising or bleeding from EDTA. For this reason, work with your own doctor on dosing of any EDTA supplement. EDTA powder is one way to add EDTA to the system and it can be used in a drink.

I am actually one of those individuals who is susceptible to bruising or bleeding easily. I do not have a problem using the EDTA soap daily along with MetalAway daily as a regular source of EDTA in my supplement regime.

Egg Protein 100% Powder

A number of individuals like to use protein mixes in their daily smoothies. I do have concerns about some sources of protein powder, as they are higher in glutamate/glutamine. While any protein will include some glutamate and glutamine, the goal is to support protein without using extra added glutamate/ glutamine or aspartame/ aspartate as those can overexcite nerves to death (excitotoxin damage). This egg protein source serves the purpose of adding protein for smoothies, without the negative of extra added excitotoxins. My own daughter, who is an athlete uses this product.

Emergin C

While this cream is designed for healthy skin, it can also be used as a topical route of supplying a range of minerals and antioxidants for those who cannot swallow pills or who cannot yet tolerate oral supplements. This cream is a topical route to support vitamins A, C, E and K as well as green tea along with calming herbs such as chamomile, hops and melissa.

Estrogen from BiEstro-Care Body Cream

This topical cream includes two forms of estrogen, estriol and estradiol for topical administration to support natural healthy estrogen levels as needed.

GABA Calm Lozenges

GABA helps to balance excess glutamate. Too much glutamate excites nerves to death and can be responsible for a range of issues including eye twitching, difficulty sleeping, seizures, increased stims, lack of eye contact, aggressive behavior, decreased bowel motility, headaches amongst other issues. The use of urine amino acid tests and neurotransmitter tests give a sense of glutamate levels. When glutamate is too high, in addition to limiting the ingestion of glutamate (or other excitotoxins) the use of GABA can be a real help in addressing these issues. There are several options for supplementing GABA. Those options include GABA Balance (which is made especially for my program) as well as GABA Calm, Topical GABA pump and BeCalm Spray, Zen (which is a combination of GABA and theanine). GABA Calm includes glycine along with GABA. Glycine is what I call a fair weather friend. In other words when glutamate is higher than GABA, then glycine will enhance glutamate effects however if GABA predominates then glycine will help accentuate GABA. For this reason, this protocol does not use GABA Calm until glutamate levels are in balance later on in the program.

GABA Pump with L-Theanine with Sunflower Phospholipids

(Liposomal GABA with L-Theanine Pump)

Those options include GABA Balance (which is made especially for my program) as well as GABA Calm, Topical GABA, BeCalm Spray and Zen (which is a combination of GABA and theanine). The value of GABA pump with theanine is that it can either be used topically or as an oral spray for those who cannot swallow capsules or handle higher doses of supplements. Theanine is another calming ingredient but it may not be well tolerated by those who have trouble with methyl donors.

GABA in BeCalm™ Spray

As with the other oral sprays, this route of administration has the advantage of being absorbed in the mouth, which can be a help for those with gut absorption issues or leaky gut. BeCalm is designed to contain a range of ingredients to help to balance and reduce excess glutamate and excess excitotoxins in the system. BeCalm contains low dose lithium as part of its ingredient mixture to balance glutamate and this has the added advantage of supplying low dose lithium that may be a help for B12 transport and maintaining healthy natural lithium levels. Other supports that can be considered to aid in balancing glutamate and excitotoxins include GABA Balance capsules and low dose Nerve Calm Nucleotide Blend.

Gastrus Chewable Tablets

This is a source of two different strains of L.reuteri. A recent study demonstrated the reversal of certain autistic behaviors in animal models when supplemented with Lactobacillus reuteri. In addition L.reuteri can help limit the growth of H.pylori. For a complete chart and listing of the probiotics I suggest and why, please see the separate Probiotic listing. I feel very strongly that sources of probiotics should be rotated.

Genesis IC Cream

The best use of this topical cream, in my personal opinion, is as a source of topical B12. This cream does include some ingredients that I am not fond of. However, there are individuals who need a topical means to add B12 and for those, this cream will serve the purpose of supplying topical B12.

Get B12™ Spray

This spray has the advantage of oral absorption which can be a positive for those with leaky gut and nutrient absorption issues. Get B12 is a source of both hydroxyl and adenosyl B12 which are the two forms of B12 that tend to be well tolerated by all. Those who do not have nutrigenomic data or those who cannot tolerate methyl donors should consider the use of GET B12 as a source of hydroxyl B12 and adenosyl B12. This can be combined with a source of methyl B12 (such as Methyl B12 Mega Drops) for those who also want to support methyl B12.

Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM Cream

This topical cream is a means to support glucosamine and chondroitin in cases where individuals cannot swallow pills or can only tolerate low doses of supplements in a topical format. Glucosamine and chondroitin are classically used to support joints. I also like glucosamine and chondroitin to support the gut lining, especially when leaky gut is a concern. This combination also includes MSM which is a source of methyl groups as well as sulfur. If sulfur levels are too high on a HE or a UTEE, then this is not a supplement that I would suggest. I only suggest it for consideration in cases of leaky gut where sulfur is not a concern. In addition, the use of MSM may be a problem for those who cannot tolerate extra methyl donors.

Glutathione Pump with Sunflower Phospholipids

Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most important compounds in the body for naturally moving toxins out of the system. When the methylation cycle is in balance and when taurine levels are in balance then glutathione levels should increase naturally. However, it is often useful to also add supplemental glutathione in moderation. This oral spray form of glutathione is useful for those who cannot tolerate swallowing pills. This is a source of glutathione as well as phospholipids. While this is not my first choice for glutathione support, this is certainly a reasonable alternative for those who cannot swallow capsules.

Glutathione in Trans GSH Cream

Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most important compounds in the body for naturally moving toxins out of the system. When the methylation cycle is in balance and when taurine levels are in balance then glutathione levels should increase naturally. However, it is often useful to also add supplemental glutathione in moderation. This topical form of glutathione is useful for those who cannot swallow pills. This glutathione cream also includes glycerylphosphorylcholine, which is reported to be helpful for the brain, for increasing acetylcholine and increasing growth hormone.

Glutathione Chewable in Reduced Glutathione Tablets

Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most important compounds in the body for naturally moving toxins out of the system. When the methylation cycle is in balance and when taurine levels are in balance then glutathione levels should increase naturally. However, it is often useful to also add supplemental glutathione in moderation. Glutathione can be impaired by oxygen, which is called oxidation of glutathione. This particular source of glutathione is specially prepared so that it is the reduced form of glutathione, in other words a source of glutathione that has not been negatively affected by oxygen/air. These chewable tablets are useful for those who cannot swallow pills.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) Capsules

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) Liquid

NOT to be confused with Grape Seed Extract. Grapefruit Seed Extract (otherwise known as GSE) is a very potent antimicrobial agent. It is useful to help with a range of microbial imbalances seen on CSA tests including a number of bacterial imbalances as well as yeast imbalances. I like to use GSE as part of a more complete program to help with microbial balance. My thesis research involved antibiotic resistance. Based on this research experience I prefer to use low doses of a range of supports to help balance microbes. I do not believe in high doses of single supplements. As a result I often suggest (for consideration with your own doctor as always) the use of GSE, IgY, a range of relevant IMF, some Nucleotide Blends, Seasonal Support capsule and/or NaturoMycin spray plus NaturoMycin capsules. The idea is to use low doses of a range of supports to help prevent microbial resistance to any one compound. The GSE liquid and NaturoMycin sprays are options for those who cannot swallow pills.

Horse Chestnut Cream

This cream is a topical source of horse chestnut that can help with veins in general and may be helpful for hemorrhoids in particular. While I prefer the use of arnica gel for more general bruising, this cream containing horse chestnut would be more applicable to hemorrhoids and varicose veins. I have had occasional issues with varicose veins in my legs since having children, and I have found this particular cream to work better on varicose veins than any of the others I have previously tried.

Hydroxy B12 Lozenges

B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested that hair metal tests (HE test) be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. In addition to the role of lithium in B12 transport, it is also important to look at a source of intrinsic factor (i.e. All in OneMitoForceACAT/BHMT capsules) and ATP to aid in B12 transport. Hydroxy B12 is the form suggested for all, regardless of nutrigenomic COMT status and can be gradually increased as tolerated, again carefully watching lithium levels on tests and also supporting with a source of ATP and intrinsic factor. B12 can be degraded in the stomach so it may be destroyed when it is swallowed. Oral dosing with the megadrops can bypass this problem. In addition to the use of Hydroxy mega drops, the B12 oral sprays (Get B12 and Black Bear) and oral Hydroxy B12 lozenges that melt in the mouth may bypass breakdown in the gut. B12 is great for energy and to fight fatigue. B12 has been found to help with motion sickness and to calm nervousness and may help with OCD. There are reports to suggest that B12 helps to regenerate nerves.

Ice Chips Lemon

Ice Chips Peppermint

These candies are available in a range of flavors and are an oral source of xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The oral absorption of xylitol may be useful for limiting strep in the mouth. Where I have struggled with dental issues for years, I use xylitol candies, xylitol rinse and other xylitol products on a daily basis and I have found it to be a major help for me personally.

Inositol Powder

Inositol is related to the compound IP6 which is inositol hexaphosphate. While IP6 is used by some as part of a more complete program to support the body with respect to cancer, inositol has been reported to be a help for the nervous system and for diabetic pain. Both inositol and IP6 have been reported to be useful in some cases of OCD.

Iodine (drops)

Iodine is important for thyroid function as well as immune function. While I do not like to use high doses of iodine, it is important to be sure iodine is in balance. Especially when using lithium support it is wise to run a urine iodine test and/or topical iodine tests to determine if more iodine support is needed. Iodine drops are complexed with potassium so this is a source to consider if potassium support is also needed. Potassium iodide is also used for support in cases of exposure to radiation.Iodoral is another option for iodine support.

KuShen Sophora flavescens (root)

KuShen has been reported to calm excitotoxin activity of glutamate. When glutamate excess is a problem, and when over stimulatory behaviors are an issue, then KuShen can be used as part of a program to balance glutamate and GABA along with the use of BeCalm SprayGABA BalanceValerianCoQ10 and other supports for glutamate/GABA Balance. In addition KuShen has been suggested to help with some cases of asthma and to decrease excess eosinophils in the lung. High levels of eosinophils are noted in cases of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, H.pylori and CFS. Current research suggests that Mycoplasma may also be a trigger for Mast Cell activiation and increased eosinophil levels. Running tests for Mycoplasma as well as Respiratory nucleotide blend may be worth considering as part of a more complete approach to Mast Cell Activation.

Lactobacillus reuteri in Digestive Health Chewable Tablets (Gut Health)

Lactobacillus reuteri in Chewable Gastrus Tablets

Lactobacillus reuteri has been reported to help lower the level of H.pylori as well as other non-ideal organisms in the gut. . A recent study also demonstrated the reversal of certain autistic behaviors in animal models when supplemented with Lactobacillus reuteri. I like to use a source of L.reuteri along with other strains of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacter for a more complete range of support for normal flora in the body. Using a range of normal flora is a key to laying the groundwork for gut health in my opinion. I feel that rotating sources of normal flora work best in terms of populating your system with ideal flora. For a complete chart and listing of the probiotics I suggest and why, please see the separate Probiotic listing. This includes a more complete explanation of probiotic options and the rationale behind my choices for probiotic support.

Liposomal GABA with L-Theanine Pump

(GABA Pump with L-Theanine with Sunflower Phospholipids)

Lithium Drops

Lithium plays a role in B12 transport as well as helping to balance excess glutamate and potentially increasing gray matter in the brain along with supporting a balanced mood. The BeCalm Spray and All in One both contain very low levels of lithium to help support B12 transport. However, when lithium levels are particularly low on a HE test or in blood the use of additional lithium can be considered with your own doctor. I feel that it is very important to be sure lithium is in balance before adding higher doses of B12 or 5 methyl THF, otherwise there is a risk of further depleting already low levels of lithium. The use of the lithium drops can be considered by those who have trouble swallowing pills or need a lower dose of lithium for support such as younger individuals. AS ALWAYS please work with and defer to your own doctor on supplement choices and in particular when adding extra separate sources of lithium. In addition I believe that PotassiumATP and MitoForce should also be considered when supporting with extra lithium.

Magnesium Chloride (drops)

Magnesium chloride has the highest bioavailability of magnesium supports when used in a liquid format as it dissolves so easily in water. These liquid drops are an easy way to administer magnesium for those who cannot swallow pills. If sodium levels are not in balance, this may not be the ideal form of magnesium to use as sodium and chloride are in a balance with respect to transport. Magnesium serves a range of critical roles in the body and I feel that magnesium is one of the key minerals to keep in balance. Magnesium helps to balance glutamate, aids in muscle flexibility, helps with constipation and menstrual cramps, is a calming herb, helps to balance calcium and can help increase melatonin release. Excess calcium works with glutamate in the system to over excite nerves to death; the use of magnesium to balance that calcium can be very helpful. Under conditions of stress, magnesium may be replaced by calcium if insufficient magnesium is present, causing tightness in muscles. Remember that calcium and magnesium compete with each other for transport into the body, another reason to be sure you have more magnesium in your supplement regime than calcium. Because it is such a critical mineral I like to have a range of supports containing magnesium as options to consider including, magnesium citrate, magnesium chloride, magnesium krebs, magnesium malate, magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate and Tri-mag. Each of these types of magnesium offer unique advantages and a combination of several forms of magnesium support can be considered based on the properties of each form of magnesium.

Magnesium Sulfate Cream

This is a topical cream for supporting magnesium for those who cannot swallow pills. Magnesium sulfate may be a help for sore muscles and for those who are low in sulfur on tests. This is NOT an ideal form of magnesium for those who have higher than ideal sulfur levels on a HE test or UTEE or who are low in B12 or molybdenum as these nutrients play a role in sulfur processing. In addition if taurine is high on a UAA, or you are SUOX + or have one a more significant CBS SNP status (CBS 212+ or CBS C699T++) then this is NOT a source of magnesium that I would suggest, nor would I suggest the use of any sulfur containing supports in general for those individuals. Each of these types of magnesium offer unique advantages and a combination of several forms of magnesium support can be considered based on the properties of each form of magnesium.

Manganese (drops)

Manganese is important for helping to process arginine in the system as well as a number of other key functions in the body, such as limiting the breakdown of serotonin. The goal is to have manganese in a LOW normal range on a HE test as levels that are too high can be a problem. Excessively high manganese has been associated with psychosis and may affect the ability to use GABA. For these reasons I only like very low dose manganese support, again until levels are in the low end of normal range. In addition to the use of manganese drops, the supplement Glucosamine Chondroitin Plus is also a source of low dose manganese. Glucosamine Chondroitin Plus may be a help for the gut as well as joints, but is not an ideal choice for those with high levels of sulfur in the system. In those cases low dose manganese drops would be the preferred form of support. Quercetin 500 capsules are also a low dose source of manganese support. Quercetin 500 would be a choice for low dose manganese support if there is also a strong need for antioxidants, or if uranium excretion is high on toxic metal tests. Quercetin is an antioxidant but is not well tolerated by those who are COMT ++, so this is not an ideal option for individuals with a COMT ++ status. If manganese levels are very high on a HMT consider a Home water test to be sure there are not excessively high levels of manganese in the home water system. Again, high levels of manganese can be toxic and cause symptoms of psychosis.

Melatonin Lozenges

Melatonin is needed for sleep. Melatonin lozenges help to give more immediate relief, so these would be an option to choose if falling asleep is the problem but staying asleep is not an issue once you have fallen to sleep. The use of SAMe (along with Ultimate B Complex) during the day and then melatonin at night can be a help for those having trouble sleeping without additional supports. Zinc has been reported to play a role in melatonin levels so the use of zinc during the day, along with SAMe (always take SAMe with a B complex) can make a difference.

Melatonin Sleep™ Spray

Melatonin Sleep spray has a range of calming supports along with melatonin. The advantage of this combination is that it may help promote sleep without having to use higher doses of melatonin. Where melatonin includes methyl groups, higher doses of melatonin can be an issue for those who do not tolerate methyl donors. In those cases the Melatonin Sleep spray may be a better choice as it includes melatonin as well as other ingredients to promote sleep without adding extra methyl donors. As always defer to your doctor on dosing.

L-Methionine

Methionine is a critical part of the methylation cycle. If UAA tests show low methionine as the only amino acid not in normal range then low dose methionine support can be considered. Where methionine sits at a central point of the methylation cycle the goal is to support all aspects of the cycle and not simply supporting methionine. Low dose methionine is part of the compounded supplement called AminoAssist and this would be a better choice if a number of amino acids are low. Muscle Fatigue capsules include low dose methionine and if muscle fatigue is an issue then the use of Muscle Fatigue capsules would be preferable to just using plain methionine. Low dose methionine can be a help when urine pH is high, especially when used in conjunction with cranberry. While I use low dose plain methionine for my own Newfoundland dogs (as they tend to have problems with muscle weakness as well as high urinary pH and UTIs), this is because dogs cannot handle the range of supports in the Muscle Fatigue capsule so only the use of plain methionine is an option in this case. I only like to use low dose methionine support, such as what is contained in the Muscle Fatigue capsule or Amino Assist. I only suggest sprinkles of methionine if using it directly and checking levels on a UAA to be sure methionine stays in balance with support.

Methyl B12 Mega Drops™

Methyl B12 is the ideal form of B12 for those who can tolerate and need more methyl donors, generally those who are COMT –. B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested HE tests be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. In addition to the role of lithium in B12 transport, it is also important to look at a source of intrinsic factor (i.e. All in OneMitoForceACAT/BHMT capsules) and ATP to aid in B12 transport. There are three major types of B12 used for this program: hydroxyl, adenosyl and methyl B12. Hydroxy and Methyl B12 available as megadrops which allows for exquisite control over dosing as well as limiting oxygen exposure that can occur when oral tablets are broken into smaller pieces. Adenosyl B12 is considered for those with mitochondrial issues, athletes, those with signs of ketosis on a MAP test, those with high MMA on a MAP test, those with high valine on a UAA, and those with imbalances in the Krebs/Citric acid energy cycle. Hydroxy B12 is the form suggested for all, regardless of nutrigenomic COMT status and can be gradually increased as tolerated, again carefully watching lithium levels on tests and also supporting with a source of ATP and intrinsic factor. MethylB12 is ideal for those who can tolerate more methyl donors and can be gradually increased as with the hydroxyl form of B12. Cyano B12 is NOT the preferred source of B12, however it is the form of B12 found most often in more unique sources of B12 such as patches and chewing gum. While not the preferred form of B12, the convenience of using patches or gum is a reason to consider these more unique source of B12. I always suggest adding some hydroxyl B12 support when any source of cyano B12 is used, as the hydroxyl B12 helps to remove cyanide from the system and ‘cyano’ B12 means cyanide complexed with B12. Many less expensive general vitamins or sources of B complex use cyanoB12 to save on cost; remember that All in One and Ultimate B Complex do NOT contain cyanoB12. B12 can be degraded in the stomach so it may be destroyed when it is swallowed. Oral dosing with the megadrops can bypass this problem. In addition the B12 oral sprays (Get B12 and Black Bear Energy) and oral lozenges that melt in the mouth may bypass breakdown in the gut. Also, the B12 gum and B12 patches can allow for B12 support in a manner that limits destruction in the gut (again, I would use a low dose source of hydroxyl B12 along with patches or gum). B12 is great for energy and to fight fatigue. B12 has been found to help with motion sickness and to calm nervousness and may help with OCD. There are reports to suggest that B12 helps to regenerate nerves.

Methyl-Cobalamin (B12) Lozenges

The main advantage of Methyl B12 lozenges as compared to the use of Methyl B12 liquid drops is the convenience of a lozenge. Lozenges are easy to keep in your purse or your pocket and pop in your mouth during the day. On the other hand, the drops allow for more precise dosage control, so it is easier to slowly increase the dosage of methylB12 using the drops rather than lozenges. Methyl Folate 5 MTHFR (5 methyl THF drops previously called MethylMate B™ Drops)

Previously called MethylMate B, these drops are a source of 5 methyl THF which is the form of folate needed to bypass MTHFR SNPs and to support the methylation cycle. While All in One has very low dose 5 methyl THF (just enough to be sure the cycle is not depleted of critical components) the use of 5 methyl THF drops is designed to allow for exquisite control over dosing of this critical compound. Where the use of 5 methyl THF is often the piece that triggers detox reactions in individuals it is important that you have control over dosing so that it can slowly be increased as tolerated to achieve optimal levels. Because 5 methyl THF is oxygen sensitive, breaking tablets containing 5 methyl THF into pieces is not an ideal way to handle lower doses. For this reason, the drops give incredible control over the ability to start with low doses of 5 methyl THF and then gradually increase as needed. The idea in terms of supporting the methylation cycle is to first support the short cut and have low level complete methylation support with All in One. Then once you have ascertained that lithium is in balance on a HE test, it is time to add more long route support. Folinic Plus includes nucleotides, low dose SAMe, PS/PE/PC, low dose folinic, intrinsic factor to help with B12 transport as well as including hydroxyl and adenosyl B12 and the ingredients to help support natural production of BH4. Again, basically everything you need to support the methylation cycle other than 5 methyl THF. The addition of 5 methyl THF is achieved as a separate item so that you have control over its dose and when to add it, as that can be the piece that triggers detox in a number of individuals especially those who are C677T ++. That is why Methyl Folate 5 MTHF liquid drops (5 methyl THF drops previously called MethylMate B) are added separately from the rest of the methylation cycle supports.

Molybdenum (drops)

I prefer the use of molybdenum capsules or the MTR/MTRR/SUOX capsule (which includes molybdenum) to support molybdenum in the body, rather than the use of molybdenum liquid drops. For those who cannot swallow pills and have no other option then the molybdenum liquid drops can be utilized. The drops are not a favorite as they are complexed with ammonia. This is why these drops are not my first choice for support and should be used only by those who actually show low ammonia on UAA tests or those who cannot add molybdenum in a capsule form. Molybdenum is a critical mineral that participates in a range of reactions in the body. Several very key reactions that require molybdenum include the enzyme sulfite oxidase that helps to process toxic sulfur groups in the body. Those who are sulfite sensitive want to be sure that molybdenum and B12 are in a normal healthy range in the body. When taurine levels are too high on a UAA or NC this puts more pressure on the enzyme sulfite oxidase which then may need more molybdenum and B12 to process the sulfur groups generated from this excess level of taurine. In addition molybdenum helps to detoxify acetaldehyde which can be produced from Candida infection in the body. Yeast infections can be noted by running a CSA, GPPP or Vaginosis test. Molybdenum also works with another enzyme to generate uric acid in a healthy manner. Finally molybdenum cofactors are part of the pathway to BH4 production. Molybdenum may help to balance copper levels that have climbed too high, this is important as excess copper can play a negative role in attention. Those adults who drink wine, beer or high levels of other alcoholic beverages should consider extra molybdenum and B12 (or Black Bear which includes both) to help process the alcohol and sulfites in these drinks. It is very important in my opinion to keep molybdenum in a higher normal healthy range; it is a key mineral to monitor in my view.

NADH Tablets (ENADA NADH)

NADH is one form of vitamin B3. This form is particularly important for energy in the mitochondrial Krebs/TCA cycle (so consider NADH if you have imbalances on your MAP test). NADH is also important as an antioxidant. NADH is also included in the compound that I designed for the mitochondria called MitoForce, but the use of additional NADH is often a help. NADH can be useful for imbalances in norepinephrine/epinephrine ratio as well as for attention issues. Because you want the glutathione (GSH) you use to be in the reduced form, I always like to use NADH when using glutathione. There is some research to suggest that the combination of NADH and glutathione may also be useful for those with Parkinsons. Defer to your own doctor as always.

Natural Tea Tree Oil & Neem Toothpaste

Both neem and tea tree oil have natural antimicrobial properties Neem has been used for years as a natural means to clean teeth, for healthy gums and for skin issues. Those who want a natural antimicrobial for oral hygiene can use this as toothpaste and combine it with the use of oral forms of xylitol to aid in balancing other non-ideal organisms in the mouth that may cause ear infections. NaturoMycin spray can be combined with the use of tea tree and neem toothpaste for a more comprehensive herbal combination that has antimicrobial activity.

NaturoMycin™ PVB Microbial Balance Spray

Natural herbs can be used to help limit growth of undesired organisms, along with probiotics and supplements that address biofilms. Consider the use of BOTH NaturoMycin spray and NaturoMycin capsules because they contain different herbs that work together for optimal results. My prior research on antibiotic resistance helped me to reach the conclusion that the use of a number of herbs, with different means of addressing bacteria, used simultaneously at low doses was preferable to using a single herb at a higher dose. The goal is to affect the bacteria in a number of different ways at the same time, limiting their ability to combat just a single herb. For this reason both NaturoMycin capsules and spray contain a range of herbs. The herbs in each are related but not identical and that is why I suggest using both the spray and capsules together. NaturoMycin spray is a source of: echinacea, cranberry, elderberry, lomantium, dandelion root, skullcap, and goldenseal. NaturoMycin capsules are a source of the following: berberine, myrrh, bay leaf, cranberry, neem, Oregon grape, elderberry, olive leaf, oregano, black walnut, juniper berry, garlic, uva ursi, wormwood and pumpkin. Berberine may help to support healthy bile levels as well as having antimicrobial properties. In addition, if biofilms or chronic bacterial issues are concerns, then you can consider the use of Bactisolve with their own doctor as part of a more complete antimicrobial program. The combination of EDTA and chitosan found in Bactisolv has been reported to help weaken the protective layers surrounding bacteria, making them more susceptible to antimicrobial agents. (Where BactiSolve does contain EDTA it may cause detox so this consideration should be kept in mind.) Since I feel that low doses of multiple herbs and supplements to limit bacterial resistance is the ideal approach, I like to use NaturoMycinGSE and Seasonal Support along with Bactisolve for those with chronic bacterial imbalances on CSA/GM tests. Remember that chitosan is derived from the shells of shellfish and for this reason it should be used with caution or avoided by those with shellfish allergies.

Neem Oil Lotion (with Aloe Vera)

When my girls were younger they would use neem lotion daily for dry skin. Neem can be helpful for oral hygiene as well as an aid for dry irritated skin. It can be considered for those with Rosacea or psoriasis as part of a more complete program to address these skin conditions.

Neem Oil Shampoo (with Aloe Vera)

Neem can be helpful for oral hygiene as well as an aid for dry irritated skin. It can be considered for those with Rosacea or psoriasis as part of a more complete program to address these skin conditions.

Neem toothpaste (in Natural Tea Tree Oil & Neem Toothpaste)

Both neem and tea tree oil have natural antimicrobial properties. Neem has been used for years as a natural means to clean teeth, for healthy gums and for skin issues.

Oscillococcinum Quick Dissolving Pellets

Oscillococcinum is a homeopathic remedy with a long history of use in addressing influenza. I have used this for my own children for the flu along with ElderberryEchinacea and Goldenseal. Because I routinely used that combination of herbs for so many years with her my children, I finally had them compounded in the capsule called Seasonal Support. The use of Oscillococcinum along with Seasonal Support is a powerful combination to aid in addressing issues during the cold and flu season. As always defer to your own doctor when you suspect you may have the flu.

Papaya Enzyme Chewable Tablets

Papaya enzymes are a gentle way to add digestive enzymes to help process foods and limit flatulence. However, I prefer the use of SDE for all (due to the high level of pancreatin in SDE) as well as SerenAid for those who are AHCY +, and ACAT/BHMT capsules to help with digestion for those who are ACAT +. In addition, I suggest the use of Biotin and Adenosyl B12 for those with issues of fatty acid digestion. However, papaya is a mild way to add extra enzymatic support and a great place to start with enzymes for those who are sensitive to supplements and may want to move more slowly and gradually in terms of layering in enzymatic support.

Pedi-Active Phosphatidylserine / DMAE Chewable Tablets

I believe in starting with short cut support for the methylation cycle, and a key component of that is a source of PS/PE/PC/PE. One option to supply higher doses of PS/PE/PC/PI is the Phosphatidyl Serine Complex. A lower dose in a chewable format that is easy to use in young children or those who cannot swallow pills is the Pedi-Active tablet. This is also a good starting point for short cut support for those adults who cannot tolerate the higher dose of PS/PE/PC/PI in the gelcapsules until later in the program. I used a source of PS/PE/PC/PI for all of my daughters since they were in grade school and I feel strongly that this supplements was a huge help for their academic success. Support with Pedi-Active may also be a help for those with concerns about ADD/ADHD. The source of phospholipids in Pedi-Active as well as the Phosphatidyl Serine complex is soy. There are other options for a soy free source of phospholipids, but these two products, Pedi-Active and Phosphatidyl Serine complex (what I call PS/PE/PC) are my preferred sources for support as long as soy is tolerated.

Perque Activated B-12 Guard Lozenges

B12 support is critical for long route methylation cycle function. Based on my research it is highly suggested that a HE test be run (or blood work) to be sure lithium is in balance prior to adding high doses of B12. Hydroxy B12 is the form suggested for all, regardless of nutrigenomic COMT status and can be gradually increased as tolerated, again carefully watching lithium levels on tests and also supporting with a source of ATP and intrinsic factor. Hydroxy B12 is available in a variety of formats including the Hydroxy B12 Mega Drops, Get B12 spray, the Black Bear Energy spray and drink as well as the Perque chewable lozenges.

Potassium Drops (a source of potassium phosphate)

I prefer that potassium levels are higher than sodium on a UTEE or a HE test. Potassium plays a role in energy systems and is a critical supplement in the body for the heart, muscle and energetics. For this reason, I like to have a range of options for potassium support so that individuals can tailor their choice of potassium to other needs in the body or to use a range of types of potassium to ensure optimal levels. When supporting with lithium, I feel that it is very important to also add potassium as well as ATP and/or MitoForce to help balance levels of both lithium and potassium. In addition, those taking birth control pills tend to be low in potassium. Lack of potassium can lead to depletion of rubidium and that may trigger aggression. For this reason I like to suggest potassium support as well as regular HE and UTEE testing for females on birth control. Potassium drops are a source of potassium combined with phosphate. When phosphate levels are low this is a good choice for support. Potassium phosphate drops can be used in conjunction with ATP, Riboflavin 5’-Phosphate and MitoForce to support phosphate levels along with potassium phosphate since it is needed to help with energy and ATP, which aids in transport of a large range of nutrients into the body. The potassium drops are a liquid so they include preservatives. Some have trouble with these particular preservatives in which case the potassium tablets can be considered as they are a source of potassium phosphate as well, but the tablets also include calcium. If calcium levels are too high and the desire is to add a source of potassium that also includes phosphate then the drops are the better choice. However, if calcium levels are in the lower range of normal and the desire is to support both potassium and phosphate then the potassium tablets would be the better choice.

Primadophilus Kids Tablets (Perishable)

Since I like to rotate probiotics there is more than one option for chewable probiotics. Primadophilus is a source of two strains of Lactobacillus, L.rhamnosis and L.acidophilus. In addition Primadophilus includes a source of my other preferred probiotic strain, Bifidobacterium. Primadophilus is also a source of xylitol, which can be helpful in limiting non-ideal bacteria in the mouth that can contribute to dental issues or ear infections. Other chewable sources of probiotics are the Digestive Health chewable tablets and Gastrus chewable which include Lactobacillus reuteri, which has been reported to help lower the level of H.pylori as well as other non-ideal organisms in the gut. L.reutri may also help to increase oxytocin and appears to limit certain autistic behaviors in animal models of autism.

Progesterone in Pro-Gest Body Cream

A topical route of administration of progesterone to help with hormone balance. This can be used in conjunction with BiEstro Cream for estrogen if both hormones are desired. There are a range of herbs that aid in hormone balance that can also be used as needed including PregnenoloneVitex,Natural Estrogen, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai and AM/PM Menopause tablets. Defer to your own doctor for help with hormone choices.

Purifying Tea Tree Hand Soap

Tea tree oil has natural antimicrobial properties, I literally have this hand soap next to every sink in my home, in the kitchen as well as bathrooms. I have always had my daughters use this hand soap in their dorm rooms and in their apartments. I prefer tea tree soap over any other antimicrobial soap that is available.

Resveratrol™ Antioxidant & Glutamate Balance Spray

Literature supporting the use of resveratrol is voluminous. Resveratrol has been reported to serve as an antioxidant, to help with pain, to increase longevity as well as helping to support a healthy body with lowered issues of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and Alzheimers. This spray is an easy to administer oral format that can be used by those who cannot swallow pills or may aid in oral absorption in those who have trouble absorbing nutrients due to leaky gut. The UltiFendcompound also includes resveratrol along with 25 additional antioxidants for a more comprehensive approach to antioxidant support. This resveratrol spray is great for extra added support and for those who are unable to use the compounded UltiFend capsule.

Selenium (drops) (a source of selenium selenite)

Selenium drops are a source of sodium selenate. This form of selenium is reported to more specifically help support healthy glutathione levels as compared to other forms of selenium, although it may not be absorbed as easily as Selenium-methyl L-selenocysteine or selenomethionineSelenium is important for helping to maintain healthy glutathione levels in the body (with sodium selenite as a preferred source for this purpose), helping to lower inflammation and reducing the risk of certain cancers. Selenium also may help aid in moving mercury from the system. Lack of selenium can play a role in muscle fatigue and weakness. It has been suggested that it is ideal to use multiple types of selenium as they work together in a synergistic fashion. However, excess selenium can have toxic effects in the body. The body regulates selenium levels by removing excess selenium by methylation. Those who have not yet supported methylation in the body may want to be more cautious about selenium dosing. Once methylation is supported and in balance THEN the body is in a better position to utilize higher levels of selenium support and take advantage of the positive effects of selenium with regard to toxic metal excretion, glutathione support and cancer prevention. I feel that selenium is such an important mineral in the body that I like to have several options to choose from for adding extra selenium once methylation is supported. Studies indicate that specific types of selenium may help protect against a range of cancers, Selenium-methyl L-selenocysteine is one of the forms suggested for this purpose, along with sodium selenite and selenomethionine. Both selenomethionine and selenium methyl L cysteine are well absorbed in the body and may help with cancer prevention in different ways. Selenium methyl L selenocysteine helps to induce the death of mutated cells. Selenomethionine is well absorbed and is reported to induce suicide of cancer cells. The various forms of selenium can be combined for use of different forms simultaneously, but again, I feel it is very important to ensure that methylation support is in place before increasing selenium support from multiple sources. The custom general vitamin I designed called All in One includes very low dose selenomethionine as well as low dose methylation supports to help everyone get started with a low dose source of well absorbed selenium along with methylation support basics. MetalAway also includes a low dose source of selenomethionine.

SHMT™ Spray

SHMT support spray and capsules help to support the imbalances created by AHCY and SHMT SNPs, but are also a help for the presence of higher iron on mineral tests. Excess iron can increase bacterial issues. Excess iron can also increase the SHMT pathway so that it becomes overactive looking like an SHMT + SNP even if that SNP is not present. Excess iron can thus create imbalances in aspects of the folate/MTHFR pathway and this supplement may be a help in restoring balance. Those with AHCY SNPs may benefit from additional DPP-IV support and that enzyme is included in AHCY/SHMT capsules (extra DPP-IV can also be added with the use of SerenAid). Both the capsules and spray include a low dose source of folinic and nucleotides to help shift the emphasis back to the long route and short cuts around the methylation cycle and away from the ‘dead end’ path created by SHMT +. My daughters have found that literally targeting the throat by looking in a mirror and using the SHMT spray to target red or white spots in the throat when they have a sore throat is a tremendous help in speeding recovery. My daughters combine this use of the spray with Seasonal Support and IMF 5 during cold/Strep and flu season. DEFER to your own doctor when you suspect Streptococcus/Strep throat or the flu.

Slippery Elm Throat Lozenges

Slippery elm helps to soothe irritated mucous membranes. I like to use slippery elm for a sore throat as well as for those with imbalances in sIgA on a CSA, suggesting irritated mucosa in the gut. Since zinc may limit the duration of certain colds/flu the use of Zinc lozenges with slippery elm is another option for a sore throat.

Smart Sweet (Xylitol) Granules

Xylitol is reported to help limit ear infections from Streptococcus, and to help with dental issues. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The use of xylitol as a sweetener may help with these issues as well as serving as an alternative to sugar. The Ice Chips candies are another source of xylitol; the oral absorption of xylitol in these candies may be useful for limiting Strep in the mouth. I have struggled with dental issues for many years. On the recommendation of my dentist I use xylitol mints, sweetener, oral rinse on a daily basis and I have found it actually has been a great help for me personally.

Smart Q10 Chewable Tablets

Sodium from Aerobic O7 (Stabilized Oxygen) Drops

Low dose support with Aerobic drops can be used to help support sodium if low levels are detected on mineral tests as well as serving as support for oxygen for tired muscles. When the pH on a CSA test is particularly low, or the creatinine levels are very high on urine tests then the use of sodium bicarbonate is another option to consider with your own doctor, but care should be used when using sources of bicarbonate to help with pH issues. As always defer to your own doctor when working on pH imbalances.

Statlyte Cream

A topical cream that serves as a source of a range of minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and zinc. It does also include colloidal silver and I am NOT a fan of the use of silver in any product. For this reason, I only suggest the use of this cream when oral support of a mineral is not possible and in those cases this offers an option to help address the need for mineral support. Because of the presence of colloidal silver in this cream, I suggest using the B complex crème ALONG with this Statlyte mineral crème as the B complex crème includes riboflavin which can help to mitigate the impact of silver in the system.

Tea Tree Hand Soap

Tea tree oil has natural antimicrobial properties, I literally have this hand soap next to every sink in my home, in the kitchen as well as bathrooms. I have always had my daughters use this hand soap in their dorm rooms and in their apartments. I prefer tea tree soap over any other antimicrobial soap that is available.

Tea Tree Oil & Neem Toothpaste (Natural Tea Tree Oil & Neem toothpaste)

Both neem and tea tree oil have natural antimicrobial properties. Neem has been used for years as a natural means to clean the teeth, for healthy gums as well as for skin issues. Those who want a natural antimicrobial for oral hygiene can use this as toothpaste and combine it with the use of oral forms of xylitol to aid in balancing other non-ideal organisms in the mouth that may cause ear infections. NaturoMycin oral spray can be combined with the use of tea tree and neem toothpaste for a more comprehensive herbal combination that has antimicrobial activity.

Trans GSH Cream (GSH Cream)

Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most important compounds in the body for naturally moving toxins out of the system. When the methylation cycle is in balance and when taurine levels are in balance then glutathione levels should increase naturally. However, it is often useful to also add supplemental glutathione in moderation. This topical form of glutathione is useful for those who cannot swallow pills. This glutathione cream also includes glycerylphosphorylcholine, which is reported to be helpful for the brain, for increasing acetylcholine and increasing growth hormone.

Usnea

Usnea is an herbal supplement that may be useful for helping to balance particular microbes that are often difficult to address with more standard herbs. Usnea can be considered for Clostridia support and to address Bacteroides support. In addition it may be useful to aid in parasite balance when used in conjunction with Paradex and Naturomycin. As always defer to your own doctor when addressing microbial issues.

When my daughers were too young to swallow capsules, I would open up the capsule and mix it with honey on a spoon and have my girls lick the mixture off the spoon. I definitely prefer the ‘honey mixed with capsule contents route’ to using a chewable vitamin. However if you can only use a chewable general vitamin, at this point, I would consider this Vegan chewable the best alternative option.

Wellness Cold and Flu Tablets

This is a Homeopathic remedy based on Echinacea that I have used for years along with Echinacea Goldenseal and the combination of supplements in Seasonal Support. I am a strong believer in Homeopathic remedies and I have found this particular remedy to be very useful as part of a more complete approach to colds and flu that can also include extra Elderberry and Oscillococcinum.

Xlear

Xlear is a nasal spray formulated with xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. This nasal spray may be especially helpful when used in conjunction with Seasonal Support capsules at the first sign of a sniffle or a cold. Defer to your own doctor as always.

Xylitol in Ice Chips Lemon

Xylitol in Ice Chips Peppermint

These candies are available in a range of flavors and are an oral source of xylitol. Studies indicate that xylitol may help with Streptococcus that is involved in ear infections. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The oral absorption of xylitol in these candies may be useful for limiting Strep in the mouth. I have struggled with dental issues for years. On the advice of my dentist I include xylitol mints and oral rinse in my daily dental routine and I have found this to have made a real positive difference for my dental health.

Xylitol in Smart Sweet Granules

Xylitol is reported to help limit ear infections from Streptococcus, and to help with dental issues. In addition, xylitol may help with leaky gut. The use of xylitol as a sweetener may help with these issues as well as serving as an alternative to sugar. The Ice Chips oral candies are another source of xylitol; the oral absorption of xylitol in these candies may be useful for limiting Strep in the mouth. I have struggled with dental issues for years. On the advice of my dentist I include xylitol mints and oral rinse in my daily dental routine and I have found this to have made a real positive difference for my dental health.

Zinc (drops)

These drops have the advantage of easier use for individuals who cannot swallow capsules and choose not to use chewable lozenges. However, these zinc drops are complexed with sulfur. Those who are low in sulfur can consider these drops, but anyone who has higher levels of sulfur, or low molybdenum or high taurine should consider alternate sources to support zinc rather than zinc sulfate drops. I feel that zinc is such an important mineral that I like to have a range of options for the inclusion of zinc in a daily supplement regime. I prefer that zinc levels are higher than copper in the system. These levels can be assessed by looking at HE tests as well as UTEE tests. Zinc helps to balance excess copper which can play a role in attention. Zinc helps to balance excess calcium, and recall that excess calcium can work with glutamate to over excite nerves to death. Zinc can help to aid in balancing glutamate. Zinc can help to lower excess iron as they compete for transport into the body. This is important as too much iron can increase bacterial virulence and can create imbalances in the SHMT portion of the methylation pathway.

Zinc Lozenges

I like the use of zinc lozenges to help support zinc levels. The slippery elm in these lozenges are an added benefit as slippery elm is soothing for the GI tract. There are two types of lozenges that contain zinc, slippery elm and vitamin C however, the difference between the two lozenges is that one also includes xylitol and the other does not. I like xylitol as it can reduce non-ideal bacteria in the mouth, aid in ear infections and be helpful for the gut. Some individuals do not tolerate or care for xylitol so that is why the “Zinc Lozenge” does not include xylitol while the “Zinc w/Vit C & Slippery Elm” does include xylitol. I feel that zinc is such an important mineral that I like to have a range of options for the inclusion of zinc in a daily supplement regime. I prefer to see zinc levels that are higher than copper in the system. These levels can be assessed by looking at HE test as well as UTEE test. Zinc can help to aid in balancing glutamate. Zinc can help to lower excess iron as they compete for transport into the body. This is important as too much iron can increase bacterial virulence and can create imbalances in the SHMT portion of the methylation pathway.

Zinc with Vitamin C & Slippery Elm Lozenges
